RAN 630, the Italian Naval Academy Regatta, is an offshore 600 miles regatta that takes place along the Livorno, Porto Cervo, Capri, and Livorno route. The regatta is organised by Yacht Club Livorno in collaboration with the Italian Naval Academy under the leadership of the Italian Sailing Federation and UVAI, Unione Vela d’Altura Italiana, which for the 2022 edition included it with the coefficient 3, the highest, among the competitions valid for the Italian Offshore Sailing Championship.
The regatta will take place from April 23 to May 1, 2022 as part of the International Sailing Week Italian Naval Academy – City of Livorno and all participating yachts will be moored under the care of the Yacht Club Livorno.
In 2022, RAN 630, now in its fifth edition, is attracting growing interest from shipowners and yachtsman, interested in competing in a race whose length is similar to those of the great international offshore races, such as the Rolex Fastnet Race, Rolex Middle Sea Race and Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.
Officine Gullo will be the sponsor of this 2022 edition and on the evening of February 25 a gala event for the presentation of the race was held at the Officine Gullo House, the company’s experiential showroom in the heart of Florence. The event was attended by authorities of the Naval Academy of Livorno, as well as by representatives and members of the Yacht Clubs and shipowners. During the event, the regatta program was presented together with its history and philosophy. The event was enriched by conviviality thanks to live cooking performances by our chefs and a private visit to the adjacent Church of Ognissanti, to discover the history and places of Amerigo Vespucci, the Florentine navigator.
