Officine Gullo opens the doors of its home

A “temple” dedicated to the culture of Italian cuisine, its tools and excellence at the table.

We are in the heart of Florence, in an ancient deconsecrated chapel, part of the monumental complex of San Salvatore in Ognissanti.

This unique context is home to Officine Gullo House: an exceptional location where the state-of-the art of the Officine Gullo kitchens meets the grand history of Florence, bringing to life to an experience that combines fine dining and culture.  A real ritual, celebrating the city, its art, its culinary tradition and its craftsmanship.

Guests are greeted by an unedited account of the birth of the first modern kitchens in the Florence of the Medici, together with a welcome aperitif.  A private passageway then offers them exclusive access to the Church of San Salvatore di Ognissanti.  A unique Florentine jewel, full of historical and artistic treasures: from masterpieces by Botticelli, Giotto and Ghirlandaio, to the funerary monuments of Botticelli, Amerigo Vespucci and Carolina Bonaparte Murat, Napoleon’s sister.

Once back in Officine Gullo House, the evening comes to its climax: dinner served at the chef’s table, i.e. at the table positioned in front of the kitchen, where the chef prepares his best dishes right before the eyes of the diners, who will have the exclusive chance to taste his delicacies, experiencing a unique moment of excellent food and great company.

After dinner, guests can enjoy a selection of cocktails by the resident mixologist in the exclusive lounge area on the upper floor.  On request, Officine Gullo offers the possibility to have dinner cooked by a Michelin starred Italian or international chef.

The space was skilfully refurbished by the Milan-based SuperSpatial studio in a clever renovation that complemented the typically Renaissance forms with new ones, maintaining its sacredness and creating a real transitional space between ancient and modern.
