Officine Gullo is for the second year main sponsor of the of the Italian Naval Academy Regatta RAN 630

On 17 March Officine Gullo hosted an event reserved for boat owners registered for the 2023 edition of the regatta at their “house” in the heart of Florence. Located in a Renaissance chapel adjacent to the church of Ognissanti, to which it is connected by a “secret passage”, the Officine Gullo House welcomed, in addition to the boatowners, the leaders of the Naval Academy of Livorno, journalists, sponsors, and sailors who were thus able to meet and dialogue with the president and general secretary of the Livorno Yacht Club.

The Naval Academy Regatta – RAN 630, will start on April 23rd from Livorno with a triangular course that will bring the fleet in front of Porto Cervo, in Sardinia, to then cross the Tyrrhenian Sea again to the island of Capri and go up again along the coast towards Livorno. Among those present at the evening was also Ida Castiglioni, the first Italian woman to have crossed the Atlantic alone on the occasion of the 1976 Ostar, who wanted to express her personal appreciation for the educational value of an offshore regatta such as the RAN 630.

After an official presentation of the regatta, the evening came alive thanks to an actor who, playing the role of Amerigo Vespucci, accompanied the guests to visit the splendid church of Ognissanti, the parish of the influential Vespucci family who have their chapel here. The skilful use of the language used in Florence at the time, the story of the deeds of the great navigator combined with the descriptions of the artworks present, including the well-known crucifix by Giotto, made the evening an event to remember for the guests.

Upon returning to the OG House, guests were able to taste the delicacies prepared by the chefs who performed in a live cooking performance.
